Our modern Olympic Games likely originated with the early Greeks around 700 BC. This site was built and in operation for well over a thousand years until it was destroyed by order of the Greek authorities around 400 AD. The representative drawings throughout the park offer reasonable images of the way the park looked when it was fully developed. The tourists around the park add a positive dimension to the stones which are cold and lifeless.
