Bulow Plantation, Florida

A short distance out of Palm Coast on Old Kings Road south of Florida 100 is Bulow Plantation State Park.  Taking a visiting guest from Japan to the old sugar mills ruins, we were surprised by the appearance of a permanent resident, which became the highlight of the tour.  This awesome creature, a fat diamondback rattlesnake, posed for many pictures.  His/her final coil was with its head placed immediately over the rattles.  Never a rattle did I hear.  Fearsome!
