There may be more ancient history packed into Jerusalem than any other place on earth. Our first viewpoint offered a panorama of this history from the wilderness of Moses’ day to several hundred years AD. The first picture is a Google site map which shows the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane on the right to the Dome of the Rock, West Wall, the old city, and finally the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on the left. Archaeological digs demonstrate the habit of building new cities upon the ruins of others. The City of David is located on the map, while Bethlehem is off the map about six miles to the south. Walking the stations of the cross through the old city was a heavy exercise without dragging a cross.
