Nazareth’s Basilica of the Annunciation and St Joseph’s Church were stops on a tour out of Haifa. It was built over the ruins of the original Byzantine Church, and the successive Crusader Church. Nazareth is believed to be where Christ spent much of his childhood. The Basilica, completed in 1969, featured donated murals from countries around the world. St Joseph’s Church was believed to be the site of Joseph’s home and workshop.
