Two areas are featured in south west Sicily. The Valley of the Temples near Agrigento includes many ruins from early Roman times. The second is Villa Roma del Casale, an archaelogical discovery preserved in mud for centuries. It features dozens of nearly complete mosaic tile pictures depicting life, or fantasy in an estate from the 3-4 century. This tile decor was on the floor, walls, and ceiling of the estate.
